Valéria João

Valéria is a Masters student at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa (University of Lisbon School of Humanities). She holds a bachelor's degree in language sciences from the same institution and, due to her ambition and passion for learning, wishes ardently to further her education.

Valéria fell in love with linguistics and, since the beginning, did not want anything else but to belong to Academia. She attends every event possible, be they online or in-person, always offering to help directly rather than just spectating.

For her is all about broadening horizons and seeking new experiences: if she has a chance, she will go for it, the hard part is to choose. At ULisboa, she plays a role on 3 faculty councils as a representative, as well as serving as a mentor to new students.

Val believes that knowledge is only useful when shared and hopes to learn and teach something new until her very last day. Valéria loves writing and reading, challenging herself and buying books, school and office supplies and, of course, her family and her cat.
