Sybil Vachaudez

Sybil is a third-year B.A. Language Sciences student at FLUL and is working on manually transcribing Bacellar's Diccionario de lingua portugueza - a late XVIII century Portuguese dictionary. Her academic interests include phonology, historical linguistics, textual criticism and language acquisition. Apart from the Word Lab, she also works on various other research projects at the linguistics department. 

Sybil has a natural talent for languages and is always on the lookout for opportunities to learn more. She speaks fluent Portuguese, French and English while also studying Romanian and Arabic. She loves exploring foreign cultures, writing, travelling and taking photos.
