
Carina Pinto
Researcher
Carina is a speech therapist and neuroscientist. She is currently an invited assistant at the Escola Superior de Saúde de Leiria - Instituto Politécnico de Leiria and a collaborator in the graduate and undergraduate programmes at the Language Sciences department at FLUL. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy (2006) at the Escola Superior da Saúde do Alcoitão, her Master's in Neuroscience (2009) at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa and a PhD in Psycholinguistics (2017) at FLUL.
She is a member of CLUL (since 2012) where she focuses on her research in psycholinguistics, language processing and experimental linguistics. Her other areas of academic interest include: language acquisition and learning strategies, speech and language pathology and voice diagnostics. She is also the managing partner of two companies: Cuidar a Falar - dedicated to therapeutic intervention and Feel to Be - which promotes a problem-based learning to promote 21st century competencies.
For Carina it's all about challenging herself. Whenever her busy schedule permits, she's out there doing volunteer work. She also loves to travel, eat out with friends and read.
